Jackson Jr. scores Freedom Classic opener at Salina

Friday night saw Tony Jackson Jr. return with the Lucas Oil Midwest LateModel Racing Association (MLRA) at Salina Highbanks Speedway (Salina, Okla.) for the two-day Freedom Classic. In a field of 14 cars, Tony came in fourth fastest overall before picking up a heat race win. Leading flag-to-flag in the 30-lap feature, Jackson Jr. cruised to his fourth win of the season over Garrett Alberson, Jeremiah Hurst, Daniel Hilsabeck, and Justin Duty. The following night, Jackson Jr. secured his spot into the $5,000-to-win finale with a runner-up finish in his heat behind Jason Papich. Unable to close the distance on race-long pacesetter Jesse Stovall, Tony settled with a runner-up finish in the 40-lapper. Tony Toste, Kylan Garner, and Chris Kratzer completed the Top-5 finishers.

Tony remains leading the Lucas MLRA point standings.
