8th-place finish for Jackson Jr. in Larry Phillips Memorial run
On Sunday, Tony Jackson Jr. traded his familiar Super Late Model for a USRA Modified to compete in the Larry Phillips Memorial at Monett (Missouri) Motor Speedway.
The USRA Heartland Modified Tour event in Jackson’s home state brought 43 entries to the 3/8-mile track for a chance at the $7,575 winner’s share.
Jackson piloted his Willard Quarries No. 56 ride to the fifth-quickest time in his qualifying group, then raced to a runner-up result in his heat. He started 11th in the 40-lap A-Main and advanced three spots to finish eighth.
