Jackson Jr. makes MARS starts at Brownstown Bullring and Fairbury
Tony Jackson Jr. traveled to a pair of tracks in Illinois on Friday and Saturday to compete with the Midwest Auto Racing Series (MARS) Late Models.
First up on Friday, Jackson and his Elite Auto Complex No. 56 outfit were among 35 teams at Brownstown Bullring (Brownstown, Illinois) for the $10,000-to-win Brownstown 100. Jackson finished fifth in his heat race and won his B-Main on the quarter-mile oval, putting him 17th on the grid for the 50-lap main event. He was only able to complete a handful of circuits and was unable to finish, coming home in the 21st spot.
On Saturday, 30 MARS Late Models were on the property at the quarter-mile Fairbury Speedway (Fairbury, Illinois) for a $5,000-to-win program. Jackson finished fifth in his heat, starting him 15th in the 40-lap feature. He ran into trouble late in the race and recorded a DNF, taking a 19th-place result.
