Top-5 result for Jackson Jr. in MLRA Spring Nationals opener
The Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA) began its 2024 campaign on Friday and Saturday at Lucas Oil Speedway, where Tony Jackson Jr. joined a stout 44-car Super Late Model field. He turned in a pair of solid weekend results at the 3/8-mile “Diamond of Dirt Tracks” in Wheatland, Missouri.
On Friday, Jackson drove to a runner-up finish in his heat race and gridded his Elite Trailers No. 25 machine fifth for the $7,000-to-win feature. He never ran outside of the top five in the 40-lapper and finished fifth, trailing Jonathan Davenport, Ricky Thornton Jr,, Mason Zeigler and Garrett Alberson at the checkered flag.
The next night, Jackson came home fifth in his heat and 13th in his B-Main after registering a DNF. However, he still found his way into the 60-lap, $20,000-to-win finale and drove forward 13 spots to take a 12th-place result.
