Jackson Jr. posts pair of top-10 finishes in MARS opener at Maquoketa
Five-time MARS Late Model champion Tony Jackson Jr. returned to full-time competition with the series over the weekend as it kicked off its 2025 campaign at Maquoketa (Iowa) Speedway. In the two-day Nippy 50 event, Jackon grabbed two top-10 results.
On Friday, 44 MARS Late Model Championship teams were at the quarter-mile Maquoketa track for the series’ first-ever stop at the facility. Jackson drove his Bilstein No. 56 Super Late Model to a sixth-place result in his heat race, then grabbed the second and final transfer spot in his B-Main. He started the night's 40-lap, $10,000-to-win feature from 19th on the grid and climbed an impressive 11 positions to come home eighth.
The next night, with 44 MARS Late Models again on the property, Jackson was fifth in his heat, but took the checkered flag in his B-Main to move into the 50-lap, $15,000-to-win finale. He started 17th and finished 10th in the main event.
With the first weekend of competition in the books, Jackson is seventh in MARS Late Model Championship points.
