Tough outing for Jackson Jr. at Tri-City
Tony Jackson Jr. returned to the site of his most recent victory over the weekend to compete in the Midwest Auto Racing Series (MARS) Late Model Championship at Tri-City Speedway (Granite City, Illinois).
After rain washed out the Friday portion of the scheduled two-day show, 36 MARS competitors took on the 3/8-mile track on Saturday in a $5,000-to-win program.
Jackson drove his Willard Quarries No. 56 car to the seventh-quickest time in his group qualifying session and started fourth in his heat race. However he recorded a DNF in his heat and was unable to start his B-Feature, ending his night before the 30-lap main event.
