Jackson Jr. triumphs in Bad Boy 98 finale
Earns $12,000 for Eighth Comp Cams Super Dirt Series Victory
LEBANON, Mo. (05/12/25) – Tony Jackson Jr. scored his first feature victory of 2025 on Saturday with a dominant performance in the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) Bad Boy 98 main event at Batesville Motor Speedway aboard his Schlup Enterprises / VG Performance No. 56 Longhorn Chassis Late Model powered by Cornett Racing Engines.
Saturday’s $12,000 triumph was Jackson’s first win at the Arkansas oval and brought his career CCSDS win total to eight.
"I knew I needed to pace the race, but I also needed to save my tires," Jackson said. "I didn't know what the hell to do, to be honest with you."
Jackson began his night by setting the quickest time in his qualifying group and was third overall among 42 CCSDS Super Late Model competitors at the 3/8-mile oval in Locust Grove, Arkansas. He went on to win his heat race from the pole and started first in the 68-lap, $12,00-to-win feature. Jackson led flag-to-flag in a race that went caution-free for the first 46 circuits, then held off all challengers through four yellow-flag periods. He claimed his eighth career CCSDS victory by 1.314 seconds over Billy Moyer Sr., with David Breazeale, Joseph Joiner and Timothy Culp rounding out the top five.
Jackson’s Saturday win closed out a strong weekend beginning in a 43-car CCSDS field at Batesville on Friday. In Bad Boy 98 preliminary action, Jackson qualified second in his group and won his heat. He started the 30-lap, $5,000-to-win A-Main from fourth on the grid and came home in the runner-up spot, 1.389 seconds behind Tyler Stevens. Third place went to Moyer, with Morgan Bagley taking fourth and Jon Kirtby coming home fifth.
Jackson is currently ninth in the CCSDS point standings.
