Tony Jackson Jr. triumphs in MARS Red Hill run
Collects $5,000 for 21st Series Victory
LEBANON, Mo. (08/25/25) – On Saturday, a visit to Sumner, Illinois’ Red Hill Raceway with the MARS Late Model Championship netted Tony Jackson Jr. his second victory of the 2025 campaign aboard his Schlup Enterprises / VG Performance No. 56 Longhorn Chassis Late Model powered by Cornett Racing Engines.
The five-time series champion (2013-2017) earned a $5,000 payday for what marked his 21st career MARS triumph.
"(Jason) Feger told me this like was a hidden gem, or something, he said ‘you’ll really like this place,’ " Jackson said. “(The track) raced really well, (I’m) obviously biased, but we had a real fast car and was able to make the right changes all night long. Shannon Babb is obviously one of the best and Jason Feger, he can win anywhere he goes. I want to thank him, he’s always helping me.”
Jackson dominated the 19-car MARS Late Model field at the 4/10-mile clay oval, lowering the track record in qualifying with a blistering 15.018-second lap before winning his heat race from the pole. He then led all 30 laps of the $5,000-to-win feature, crossing the start-finish line 1.078 seconds ahead of Jason Feger, with Shannon Babb, Ryan Unzicker and Justin Duty completing the top five.
Jackson’s Saturday win was the conclusion to a strong weekend that began the night before in a $5,000-to-win MARS program at Kankakee County Speedway.
Jackson qualified seventh in the 21-car field at the quarter-mile track in Kankakee, Illinois. After grabbing third in his heat, he started seventh and finished fifth in the 40-lap main event. He crossed under the checkered flag chasing Feger, Babb, Mike Spatola and Jake Little.
After a strong two nights of racing, Jackson remains third in the MARS Late Model Championship standings.
